Artist Statement
My artistic practice is rooted in an ongoing reflection on transformation as an essential part of the human experience, through contemporary abstract painting, I create visual environments where light, color, atmosphere, and movement converge to evoke memory, emotion, and quiet contemplation.
My current work is centered on oil painting, it's depth, chromatic richness, and capacity for layered development allow me to build surfaces in which luminosity, transparency, and texture unfold gradually over time. Rather than seeking immediacy, I embrace a slower process that allows each composition to find its own balance between intensity and stillness, presence and impermanence.
I believe nature offers one of the most profound lessons in transformation. No light remains the same, no sky ever repeats its colors, and no landscape is truly still. Within this continuous dialogue between permanence and change, I find the foundation of my visual language. My paintings do not seek to represent nature itself; instead, they translate the emotional experience of witnessing its constant renewal, revealing that every transformation holds the possibility of a new beginning.
My artistic practice took on a new meaning in 2016 while I was undergoing cancer treatment, a period that profoundly reshaped my understanding of life. During that time, painting evolved from a means of expression into a lifelong commitment to artistic inquiry. Since then, I have devoted my practice to creating work that encourages meaningful encounters between the painting and the viewer.
Although each painting possesses it's own identity, together they form a cohesive body of work grounded in the expressive potential of light, color, and composition. Rather than offering fixed narratives, I seek to create spaces where viewers can bring their own memories, emotions, and interpretations, allowing each encounter with the work to remain open, personal, and continually evolving.
Ultimately, I hope each painting becomes a place where sensitivity, contemplation, and transformation quietly unfold, inviting viewers to discover, through the experience of light and color, new ways of perceiving themselves and the world around them.
